MUSIC IS ART 2006!
This year's Music Is Art Festival was a blast, but tiring. Some old lady called me a "hooligan" and said my mother must be horrible to give me such a name as Zilla. She was, at the time, talking to my Z.I.P. Coordinator Lady Nessa Hugsalot, who relayed the info to me after The World's Largest Trio's set. However, several other people seemed far more into the show. I'd like to thank those particular people for making it out there, including The Entire Hugsalot Family (Lady Nessa, Suzy Q, Fairilyssa, and The Incredible Dad), Dave Gray & Wild Bill, Jennimi, The Skoz Crew, Brian Wantuch, Brad V7.4.1, Mr. Mensch, Chris Muranyi, Jason & Megan, Erin, Julian, that kid with the Eddie Guererro shirt, the guy who caught my "ENGLAND" hat when I tossed it into the crowd, the several hundred people I'm no doubt forgetting because it's 5AM and I really should be sleeping right now, and everyone who bought the limited run "Further Adventures Of Guy Friday" rap opera CD, featuring the music of David Kane.

If you'd like to know more about the World's Largest Trio, visit your local library, and then, once discovering that there are no books on the subject, click on the Trio logo, or this convenient link

PHOTOS BY BRADLEY JAMES

Mr. Biff needs to watch where his hands are going methinks... The soldier doodle in the background is the beginnings of the piece I was painting. It's mid-Saturday in this pic, which is why it isn't done further.

I usually like to do a lightsaber fight during Redneck Jedi, but I accidentally left the lightsabers at home. Wild Bill from Anarchy Stage was kind enough to loan us some swords.

See, if I think really hard, I can make myself float!

This is my favorite photo from the set. Note the Stone Cold Steve Austin pose.

Another well-captured image, dig how the cord is all a-swingin' out.

PHOTOS BY MEGAN'S HUBBY JASON

Cameraphones always seem to make it look overcast...

See that shirt? Jason's wifey Megan now owns it.

Megan insists that Jason and I are related somehow, but clearly we look nothing alike...

This seems like a good spot to tell the story of how I know Jason: I used to pass by his school every weekday on my way to work, riding my bike through a crowd of his ignorant classmates. One day, Jason stopped me (or one of his friends did, I can't remember) and asked me if I was in a band. I told them about the Trio. What I didn't tell them was where I was going every day - the adult bookstore that was 2 blocks from their school (I don't work there anymore...) Anyways, Jason has since been one of the band's best supporters, and a welcome conversation whenever I see him on the bus or in public. Plus he's got cool hair, and I'm not saying that just 'cause I used to have that same haircut...

I'm not sure if I want to explain the weird performance art piece that accompanies this photo, let's just say a diaper and some live birds were involved. I was especially thankful to have Samantha present with a camera in hand, because in real life she's also an EMT, and I damn near broke my tuckus slipping and sliding my way off the stage...

This was like a dream come true for me... Robby Takac (lead guitarist for the Goo Goo Dolls and the founder of Music Is Art) allowed me the honor of freestyling with his other band Amungus, as they closed the festival Sunday night. I'm already in anticipation for next year...
